Project 1

Week 7 - 05.10.2020
Monologue for animation

I took quite some time to look for the monologue for my animation, it was hard to find any when you need one. After weeks of searching up youtube, I decided on the lines from Rocky IV.

Week 8 - 12.10.2020
Acting & Storyboard

After getting approval from Mr. Kannan, I moved on to the acting stage before start doing my storyboard.

Here is the clip of my acting :

Week 9 - 19.10.2020
Animatic

Mr. Kannan asked to do the animatic so we don't waste time on keying the poses that we don't need and also testing out different kind of camera shoot to set the mood.

Week 10 - 26.10.2020
Progression

After blocking the beefy, I started to use the actual character for my animation.

Here is the close-up shot of the character :

Animatic :

Feedback: Mr. Kanan suggested that doing one character should be more than enough, focus on one character and spent more time on building the character's personality because polishing one character's animation is a long process and take time.

Feedback

Week 7:
Searching for a monologue was taking way too much of it because of my indecisiveness. I spent much time on imagining each scene based on the audio in my head and think of which audio that I can handle well.

Week 8:
This week is fun to start with because it is our acting week, we have to act for our character based on the audio clip that we found. During the acting process, I realised that acting was something that requires a lot of body language such as facial expression, hand gesture and so on. It was admirable to found out that the detail that every actor put in for their work.

Week 9:
Blocking for the character spent me quite a lot of time because I was still familiarizing with the keyframing function. When doing the animatic, I overlapped the keyframe so many times and my animation became choppy and hard to work due to the unorganised keyframe.

Week 10:
Once I started using the real rig, the amounts of the controller on one rig were insane to me, it was hard to look at. I tried to separate to focus on each section rather on doing it all at once. Still improving on my keyframe process because sometimes my character animation was still stuck. My progress was rather slow compare with my other classmates, I hope i can still catch up with but it was nice to see my classmates progress, seeing how they interpret for their animation.
