Lectures

Week 1 - 27.08.2020
Module Briefing

Mr. Kanan briefed us about our module and what needs to be expected throughout the semester. He showed us some of our seniors' works & started to learn some basic animation of ball bouncing.

Exercises

Week 1 - 24.08.2020
Bouncing Ball

Here is the exercise I've done for week 1: Bouncing Ball with squash & stretch applied.

Ball dropping in place :

Week 2 - 1.09.2020 *Replacement class due to National day*
Bouncing Ball- Graph Editor

Here is the exercise I've done for week 1: Bouncing Ball with squash & stretch applied.

Ball bouncing with different graph adjustments :

Week 3 - 7.09.2020
Flour Sack- Exercise

Mr. Kanan taught us how to animate the flour sack during the tutorial session. He covered the fundamental of animation & functions that are important for our workflows.

Better workflow :

  1. Set the keyframe before posing.
  2. Adjust the graph editor if it's not smooth on the animation.
  3. Start to adjust the posing.
  4. Set the camera at last.

Here is the exercise that I've done :

Week 4 - 14.09.2020
Walk cycle - Exercise

Mr. Kanan showed us how to do the half-cycle of walk during the tutorial session with using beefy. Here is the walk cycle that Ive done:

Feedback :
Mr. Kanan commented on my walk cycle saying that the walk was fine just the head was  swinging way too much from left to right.

Week 6 - 28.09.2020
Pushing Boulder - Exercise

Mr. Kanan showed us how to parenting to an object. For this week, we are required to practice on pushing boulder animation. Here is the pushing boulder evercise that I've done:

Feedback

Week 1:
The module was briefed thoroughly by our lecturer. The class was quite enjoyable and I'm looking forward to the next lesson!

Week 2:
We are finally started to learn about animation. To make an object move isn't as simple as I thought but it requires a lot of fundamental of animation & practices. A little tweak of the graph can make an object move so differently which I think is quite interesting.

Week 3:
The class was quite intense but it was fun to learn. The session has covered a lot of things for this week and I think there is a lot of things that I need to practice more because I am still not used to the rig animating.

Week 4:
The walk cycle was harder than I thought, I spent quite an amount of times on adjusting the posing because I still don't get used to all the controllers and it messed up my eyes and brains. After 6 hours of practising, the result was something that I satisfy so 6 hours were still well spent!

Week 6:
After the walk cycle practices, keyframe for the key posing seems a lot easier and it was fun to animate the pushing pose, I also applied the arc theories to my animation even though it was only 2 secs.
